Production has officially commenced on the set of David Ayer's (Fury, End of WatchSuicide Squad. Today on twitter, Ayer revealed the start of filming with a shapshot of a slate accompanied by the text, "Day one". The slate also confirms that he's re-teaming with cinematographer Roman Vasyanov, who previously collaborated with Ayer on Fury and End of Watch.

Warner Bros.'s mega-budget DCU villain team-up features an all-star cast including Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jared Leto as The Joker, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller. The film also stars Scott Eastwood, Jim ParrackAdam Beach and Ike Barinholtz and is due in theaters August 5, 2016.

Ayer has been keeping busy on social media, offering regular teases of pre-production. Most recently, he revealed a first-look at the assembled cast - all except Leto - who Ayer poster a Killing Joke-inspired solo photo of the next day, debuting the actor in The Joker's signature green hair.
