Australian actress Margot Robbie nailed the Brooklyn accent in The Wolf of Wall Street and Harley Quinn’s family is from Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, so does that mean Robbie will use the same accent in Suicide Squad?  While at Sundance for the Z for Zachariah premiere, Robbie couldn’t confirm anything because certain details, including the accent, haven’t been locked in yet, but she did tease the possibilities to Superhero Hype:

“None of those things have been set in stone at this point, but according to the comics, she’s from New York and I think Brooklyn, so there may be a slight … I couldn’t imagine it would be as strong as the Wolf of Wall Street accent. The lingo will be the difference between that and the other character I played in ‘Wolf’ but I don’t know yet. We haven’t spoken about it.”

There isn’t anything too juicy in there, but it is nice to share a quote that came straight from one of the actors in the film rather than another casting story from the rumor mill.  If you want to know more about what it took for Robbie to tap into the Brooklyn accent for Wolf, check out a clip of her talking about it on Jimmy Kimmel Live below:
