One of the biggest shadows over Supergirl’s first season on CBS so far has been the lack of Superman. We hear that they text some times, but the lack of Kal-El has been as noticeable — if not more — than him ever actually appearing. Remedying this, in a way, is Supergirl’s upcoming episode, “For the Girl Who Has Everything" (a play on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' "For the Man Who Has Everything"), where Kara (Melissa Benoist) becomes trapped in a dream because of a plant called Black Mercy. While in that state, she believes she’s back on Krypton, with her parents still alive. And, her young cousin Kal-El (Danny DiMaggio) is there too and probably her babysitting charge. (See the images at the end of this post for a sneak peek at cute lil Superman).
A new promo, that CBS will be releasing before its broadcast of the Super Bowl this Sunday, also features Kara fighting Red Tornado, Non, and many other foes. The promo says “Supergirl always gets her man,” which in this case means kicking a lot of ass. But, as we reported recently, she’ll be getting a little help from The Flash’s Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) in an upcoming crossover episode, although the details are currently scarce. For now, check out the new Supergirl spot below:
Supergirl airs Mondays on CBS.
Here’s the official synopsis for the episode:
In this episode, when a parasitic alien attaches itself to Kara and traps her in a dream world where her family is alive and her home planet was never destroyed, Kara's beloved cousin Kal-El joins her and her parents in domestic Kryptonian bliss, where neither of them needed to escape to Earth, or become super heroes, on SUPERGIRL, Monday, Feb. 8 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET) on the CBS Television Network.
