The last two weeks have brought plenty of superhero news to keeps fans talking about their favorite genre and you definitely don’t want to be the one left out of the conversation, so fill yourself in with the latest superhero news here. ‘Batman v Superman’: New Trailer Released

If there was a ranking of superhero matchups, then a battle between Batman and Superman would be very high on that list. Luckily, we will get to see that on the big screen next year with Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and we got a better look at the anticipated superhero fight with a new trailer for the film being released. Earlier in the week, WB teased us with a fantastic clip, only to reveal an entire new trailer days later, giving us new looks at the superhero brawl, an exchange between Clark Kent (Henry Cavill), Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), and Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck), plus Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and the first look at a new villain.

‘Captain America: Civil War’: EW Cover, New Images, and More

Captain America: Civil War has been a topic of discussion since the release of the first trailer last week, but Marvel was looking to keep it that way this week as well with the reveal of EW’s next issue covering the film. The EW issue features the film on the cover, revealed new images, and shared new information about the characters and the conflict the film revolves around.

EW also provided more information about Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther’s role, and how he “hasn’t necessarily made up his mind about either side”. We also got details on the big superhero showdown between the opposing sides, how it all goes down and who fights who. And lastly, there was also word on whether or not Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will make an appearance in Captain America: Civil War.

‘Black Panther’: Ryan Coogler in Talks to Direct

Black Panther will be making his debut in Captain America: Civil War before getting his own standalone film in 2018, and Marvel had still been looking for a director to take charge of the upcoming film, but it looks like they found their candidate in Fruitvale Station and Creed director Ryan Coogler. After earlier rumors surfaced that stated Coogler was being eyed by Marvel to direct Black Panther, now reports place the director in talks with the studio to helm the film, though it remains to be seen if a deal is reached between Marvel and Coogler.

‘Wonder Woman’ Set Photos

Not a lot is known about Patty Jenkins’ upcoming Wonder Woman, especially about the plot, but thanks to new set photos that have leaked online we got confirmation on some details about the film. A few months ago, we reported that the film would take place in multiple time periods, one of them being World War I, and the leaked set photos confirm that some part of Wonder Woman will be set in that era. In the set photos, we get looks at Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor.

‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Gets New Writer

We’re not getting a new standalone Thor until Ragnarok hits theaters in 2017, and the wheels are turning at over Marvel to make that release date. The latest update from the Thor sequel is that the film is getting a new writer in Stephany Folsom. According to reports, Folsom has been brought on to Thor: Ragnarok to write a new draft, making her the third writer to work on the film.
