A new week rolls by and it’s time to go through the biggest superhero news that came our way in order to keep up with all of the projects that are in different stages of production. It may sound like a lot to catch up on, but when it’s all in one simple post, it’s pretty easy to stay up-to-date with everything involving all of the superhero projects. This week, we got a new set photo from Spider-Man: Homecoming, the synopsis of Suicide Squad, Thor: Ragnarok began filming, The Flash movie eying its female lead, and a new Justice League cast addition. See what you missed below.

‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’: Tom Holland Suits up in New Set Photo

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be heading our way next year, and earlier this week we were exactly one year away from the release of Jon Watts’ entry into the MCU, a fact that Tom Holland decided to celebrate by posting a photo from the set. Holland commemorated the fact that Spider-Man: Homecoming was a year away of its release by posting a selfie on Instagram, but not just any regular selfie, a selfie in his full Spidey costume overlooking the crew. A fun way to celebrate the occasion, and something I think you would see if Spider-Man had an actual Instagram account, or maybe a shot Peter Parker would try to sell to J. Jonah Jameson (that he’d think is crap).

Another piece of news out of the Spider-Man: Homecoming camp this week came in the form of a new cast addition. According to reports, Angourie Rice (The Nice Guys) has been cast in an unknown role.

'Suicide Squad' Synopsis Revealed

If you’re like me, you’re patiently awaiting the release of Suicide Squad, which thankfully is getting pretty close. To calm the anxiety and to keep us at rest until the premiere, we got the release of the synopsis for Suicide Squad. The full synopsis came with the release of new EW magazine covers that showcase the main characters of the film. The synopsis describes how Amanda Waller recruits Task Force X in order to pursue Enchantress, but thigs get tricky when The Joker appears looking to arrange a reunion with his love, Harley Quinn.

In addition to the synopsis and covers, we also got new images, and character close-ups from Suicide Squad. The images capture some moments we’ve actually got a look at from the trailers, and the close-up images are really profile pictures that are accompanied by character descriptions.

'Thor: Ragnarok' Begins Filming in Australia

There is a Marvel movie coming out next year that I feel is sneaking its way around without that much attention, that film being Thor: Ragnarok. But of course in these times and specially these types of films can’t go by unnoticed, and word was out earlier this week that Thor: Ragnarok has begun filming in Australia. A series of tweets from director Taika Waititi himself and other Marvel filmmakers also supported the announcement that shooting had begun. Someone else also wanted to announce the beginning of filming, and that was Thor himself Chris Hemsworth, who posted an announcement video from the set of Thor: Ragnarok.

'The Flash' Movie: Kiersey Clemons Eyed for Female Lead

Positive word has got itself around about Ezra Miller’s Flash/Barry Allen from the set of Justice League, and that can only work in the favor of the character’s standalone movie coming in 2018. And speaking of the standalone film, The Flash has set its gaze on Dope star Kiersey Clemons to land the female lead role. According to reports, Clemons is on top of the list of choices to play the female lead in the upcoming Flash movie, and while there is no official role confirmation, insiders suggest that it is likely it would be that of Iris West.

'Justice League': Julian Lewis Added in Mystery Role

Zack Snyder’s Justice League is currently filming in London, but still the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice follow-up grows its cast, the latest addition being Welsh actor Julian Lewis Jones. The reveal came from the actor himself during an interview, where he confirmed his involvement but could not reveal what part he will play in the film, and there aren’t any hints at what character that could be either. So that being the case, let the speculations begin.
