Warner Bros. and DC’s The Flash standalone film is set to hit theaters in 2018, with Ezra Miller as the lead, other than that little is known about the film. But now we can add who will write and direct to the list of known facts about the film, with screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith being set to write and also direct the film. Although being an accomplished writer, this would mark the debut of Grahame-Smith directing a feature film, which makes the choice by WB interesting to say the least.

Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse is coming our way next year and we had seen quite a few things so far, including what Oscar Isaac’s Apocalypse will look like, but now we can put all we know into a little context with the synopsis of the film being revealed. X-Men: Apocalypse puts the First Class mutants up front once again, and according to the synopsis, will see Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique as the new team leader:

“Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.”

By now you’ve had time to get used to the fact that Ben Affleck is our current Batman, but it doesn’t feel like that long ago that we were still wondering what he would look like in the Batsuit, and what the Batsuit itself would look like. That first look came in a photo from Zack Snyder that featured The Dark Knight with the Batmobile, and a while later we are getting another very similar picture of Batman with the Batmobile, courtesy of photographer Clay Enos. Sure, doesn’t add to what we’ve already seen, but it will have to do until we get something new or until we see The Caped Crusader in action when Batman v Superman hits theaters next year.
