As most of you know, Collider is partnered with the Brazilian website Omelete. That’s why anytime you watch a video on Collider, you see two logos. Sometimes they use out exclusives, and sometimes we use theirs. It’s a great marriage for both sites.

Anyway, Sylvester Stallone is currently working on his next movie “The Expendables” and he’s in

Brazil doing some location scouting. Omelete recently wrote a story and here’s the translation (Omelete is in Portuguese).

Written by Érico Borgo

Stallone arrived in Brazil (Rio) yesterday, had lunch at a churrascaria (one of those meat places) and visited a favela. Tomorrow he’s coming to Sao Paulo, to visit some of the movie locations (there’s some talk about scenes here in the city and at the coast ofSao Paulo - the state, not the city). O2 Films, the same production company that made City of God and Blindness, is helping him and is in charge of the filming here. They expect to begin in March, right after carnival. SP is dubbing for a small Caribbean island east of Cuba ruled by a dictator.

Every single media outlet here is CRAZY to get him to do an interview or something. People are following him on the streets, etc.

Madonna is also in town, so the reporters and paparazzi are working overtime.

And if you don’t know why he’s here….Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgreen and Randy Couture will star in The Expendables, an action movie written and directed by Stallone. The movie is about a team of mercenaries who are sent to overthrow a ruthless dictator in a foreign country (some say South America, others a Caribbean Island). Their team is "expendable," hired to do jobs that no one else can or will. Forest Whitaker and Robert Knepper are also in talks. The movie will come out in 2010.
