A Walk Among the Tombstones may have had a rough start this weekend, but Liam Neeson should be back on top soon enough courtesy of Taken 3. Come January 9, 2015, Neeson will be back as Bryan Mills, a former CIA agent who had to rescue his daughter from Albanian human traffickers and then figure out how to save the day yet again when both he and his ex-wife were taken. This time around however, no one’s taken. Instead, we’ll find Bryan on the run after he’s framed for murder.
Not only have plot details finally surfaced, but we’ve also got a few stills to go alone with them. Hit the jump to check out three brand new Taken 3 images as well those new details on the film. Taken 3 also stars Maggie Grace, Famke Janssen, Forest Whitaker and Jonny Weston.
Hopefully 20th Century Fox rethinks this idea before the big release, but according to USA Today, Taken 3 will actually be called Tak3n. And now that you likely won’t be able to take any of the information that follows seriously, here’s how Neeson described his character’s predicament in the new installment:
“I have to go on the run, I’ll put it that way, from the not-so-lawful types and the lawful authorities. Bryan Mills served his country faithfully, but now even they are after him. They must not like me.”
It seems as though Whitaker may side with the bad guys in this one because according to the outlet, he’s playing a law enforcement agent. However, Whitaker said that we won’t get any fights between him and Neeson:
“There’s no big fight between us, which I would have loved. That will have to wait until Taken 4.”
But, according to Neeson, there likely won’t be any Taken 4. He noted:
“It’s a rollicking good story. But I think this is the end.”
If Taken 3 continues the trend and earns more than its predecessors, it’s hard to imagine the studio pulling the plug on the franchise. Then again, it’s also hard to image a January release coming anywhere close to the $50 million mark.
