Warner Bros. has released a new Tammy trailer for the upcoming road trip comedy starring Melissa McCarthy and Susan Sarandon. Co-written by McCarthy and her husband Ben Falcone, who also directs, the film revolves around a down-and-out woman (McCarthy) who takes a road trip with her foul-mouthed, alcoholic grandmother (Sarandon). This new trailer offers a better look at the full film as well as the chemistry between McCarthy and Sarandon, and it also markets Tammy as the must-see movie of the big Fourth of July weekend. It’s a smart play, and the comedy is certainly on-point in this trailer. The driving force of the plot is still unclear, but the prospect of McCarthy and Sarandon encountering various familiar faces during their cross-country road trip is certainly enticing.

Here’s the official synopsis for Tammy:
Tammy (Melissa McCarthy) is having a bad day. She’s totaled her clunker car, gotten fired from her thankless job at a greasy burger joint and, instead of finding comfort at home, finds her husband getting comfortable with the neighbor in her own house. It’s time to take her boom box and book it. The bad news is she’s broke and without wheels. The worse news is her grandma, Pearl (Susan Sarandon), is her only option—with a car, cash, and an itch to see Niagara Falls. Not exactly the escape Tammy had in mind. But on the road, with grandma riding shot gun, it may be just what Tammy needs.
