Over a year ago I interviewed Taraji P. Henson for the movie “Talk to Me.” While talking to her, I made sure to ask a ton of questions about another movie she had just done…it was called “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”

When we spoke last time, she told me, “I just wrapped a film called The Curious Case of Benjamin Button starring Cate Blanchett and Brad Pitt. I’m sure you’ve heard about it. I age from 26 to 71 and it’s an early 1900’s mixed with modern time as flashbacks and I play Brad Pitt’s mother because he’s born with this rare aging disease. He’s left on my doorstep and I adopt him like any good southern woman would. Not really what I thought about when I would star opposite Brad Pitt to play his mother but ok.”

Anyway, in the last month or so I’ve heard nothing but these crazy rumors about Benjamin Button….I’ve heard it’s a lock for a Best Picture spot at the Oscar’s and Brad Pitt has never been better.

Of course, every year you hear things like that about an upcoming December release. But as the release date gets closer and closer, I keep hearing more and more positive buzz. And when you keep hearing nothing but positive things….it’s a better possibility that it's all true.

So when I ran into Taraji on the red carpet of the Hollywood Awards the other night, the only thing I wanted to know was if she had seen Benjamin Button and what did she think of it.

And just like everyone else that I’ve spoken with…she called the movie “breathtaking” and when I asked her if the movie could be a Best Picture nominee….she said “absolutely.”

So if you’re like me and dying to see David Fincher’s newest film, here’s what Taraji P. Henson said on the red carpet….And click here to read what she said over a year ago when she first wrapped on the film.
