TBS announced today that it has ordered 10 episodes of a comedy series from The Daily Show's Jason Jones and Samantha Bee. Jones will star as Nate in the as-of-yet-untitled series, which will follow their family's (presumably wacky) experiences on family getaways. The series also stars Natalie Zea (Justified) as his wife, with Ashley Gerasimovich (the original Jane on Louie) and Liam Carroll (The Neighbors) as their children.

Jones and Bee will both be serving as executive producers, and also co-wrote the pilot, which was directed by Steve Pink (Hot Tub Time Machine). According to TBS,

An honest and darkly comedic look at family, TBS's new series will follow a couple and their two young kids as they take a road trip to Florida. Jones stars as unfiltered dad Nate, who packs his wife, Robin (Zea), along with their rebellious daughter Delilah (Gerasimovich) and simpleton son Jared (Carroll), into the family car for what Nate is convinced will be the adventure of a lifetime. Every leg of their trip, however, is fraught with unforeseen disaster as they encounter one hellish turn after another. Plans call for each season of the show to chronicle a different family adventure.

I like that the synopsis just straight-up calls their son a simpleton …

This new series will also join four other scripted comedies that TBS has picked up, as the network continues to make a push for more original comedy content. That includes Angie Tribeca, starring Rashida Jones, created by another (former) Daily Show couple, Steve and Nancy Carell. Production on Jones and Bee's series is scheduled to start this summer, with a late fall start.

Update: Jones has announced that he will be leaving The Daily Show:
