Ted is coming back to the big screen on June 26, 2015 and we know he’s bringing Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, Jessica Barth and a little Mila Kunis with him, but that’s not all.  It’s being reported that Morgan Freeman has officially joined the cast of Ted 2 as well.

We don’t have any plot details yet, but apparently Freeman is set to play an iconic civil rights lawyer who steps in to help Ted out with some legal issues.  Hit the jump for more on the sequel to Seth MacFarlane’s 2012 hit.

MacFarlane is writing, directing and voicing our favorite crude, horny and irresponsible big screen teddy bear again.  We’ve also got Wahlberg returning as Ted’s longtime thunder buddy, John Bennett, and Barth coming back to play Ted’s girlfriend, supermarket cashier, Tami-Lynn.  Seyfried will replace Kunis as the female lead, but a little while back, it was reported that Kunis might still make a “tiny appearance” in the film.  According to Variety, there will also be some pop culture and A-list cameos as well.

Production is currently underway in Boston with the film making its way towards that summer 2015 debut.  Ted absolutely blew away the box office in the summer of 2012 when it opened with $54.4 million and then went on to accumulate well over $500 million worldwide.

Right now, Ted 2 is set to square off against Jonathan Demme and Diablo Cody’s Ricki and the Flash, but we haven’t seen a single thing from that one yet, so it’s tough to judge whether or not it’ll be much competition.  Either way Ted 2 will still have to fend off releases from the previous weeks, namely Jurassic World and The Fantastic Four, both of which could have long legs.
