While talking to producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form for Project Almanac, Steve got a brief update on two upcoming Platinum Dunes projects, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 and the new Friday the 13th film.  We know that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is due in theaters on June 3, 2016 and that Friday the 13th is scheduled for a November 13, 2015 release, but Fuller and Form also revealed when they expect to go into production on them.

Here’s what Form had to say when Steve asked for a status update on Friday the 13th:

“Just working on the script still.  Hoping to make that movie this year and Brad, I’m gonna confirm that Jason is in the movie.”

First, just in case you’re wondering why Form made a point of highlighting Jason’s presence in the film, about a year ago, a rumor spread that the iconic slasher might not have a place in it.  Based on what Form said, Jason is definitely in the film and if you check out the conversation in the video clip at the bottom of this article, Fuller also reiterated it.

As for the timeline, based on what Form said, it seems highly unlikely they’ll make that November 13th release.  That date was announced back in May of 2014, so perhaps things changed on their end and the public just didn’t find out about it, but even if they went into pre-production tomorrow, it’d be a challenge to have the film ready for a November debut.

From there the conversation shifted to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  Here’s what Form had to say when Steve brought up the enthusiasm the guys sparked when they announced that Bebop and Rocksteady will make their way into the sequel:

“We designed and we did lots of work on all of them and then only so many fit in the box and luckily we have another chance to make another one of these movies and some of those characters that got cut out of the first one can make it into the second one.”

Form also revealed that the Turtles team will start filming soon:

“We’re in prep right now.  We start shooting in New York in April.”

You can catch Form and Fuller talking about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 and Friday the 13th in the clip below and also be sure to keep an eye out for Steve’s full chat with them and director Dean Israelite on Project Almanac coming soon.
