The main thing that has me excited for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is the arrival of Krang, his robotic bodysuit, and the Technodrome. You really can’t go halfway with any of those extraterrestrial additions, so I’m happy to say that the latest reveals are actually pretty reassuring. We’ve got a very clear look at Krang in action thanks to a new TV spot for the upcoming film.
Starring Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Stephen Amell, Alan Ritchson, Noel Fisher, Pete Ploszek, Jeremy Howard, Tyler Perry, Brian Tee, Laura Linney,Sheamus, and Gary Anthony Williams, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows opens in theaters on June 3rd.
For those of you who want to go into the movie completely unspoiled, it’s probably best to avoid this TV spot since it’s kind of spoilery considering that it reveals quite a bit from Krang’s fight against the title turtles. It also features Shredder, Bebop, and Rocksteady, so they really do pack a lot of childhood memories into a few seconds of video.

It’s a brief video with even shorter shots of Krang in action, so here are a few screengrabs, with an additional April O’Neil shot for good measure:
Ain’t she pretty? Alright, moving on.
The next few shots feature Krang and his robotic suit battling the Turtles … but there are a few interesting things to note. First of all, the robo-suit no longer sports the humanoid head that we saw in the previously released Super Bowl trailer. That suit had blue lighting as well, while the new one has purple effects, so either the Turtles have literally knocked his robo-head off and triggered a new mode for the suit, or the post-production team has been tweaking things.
What’s cool about this new look is not only Krang’s fantastically gross design, in my opinion, but the fact that he’ll be out scurrying around in the environment, fighting off the Turtles with the help of his many-tentacled and laser-cannon-wielding robo-suit. This just looks like good, clean, juvenile fun so I hope it pays off when the movie opens this June!
Here’s the official synopsis for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows:
Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael return to cinemas this summer to battle bigger, badder villains, alongside April O’Neil (Megan Fox), Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett), and a newcomer: the hockey-masked vigilante Casey Jones (Stephen Amell). After supervillain Shredder escapes custody, he joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) and two dimwitted henchmen, Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (WWE Superstar Stephen “Sheamus” Farrelly), to unleash a diabolical plan to take over the world. As the Turtles prepare to take on Shredder and his new crew, they find themselves facing an even greater evil with similar intentions: the notorious Krang.
