Humans: the unsung heroes of the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot. While I can’t say I’m much for the muscle-bound, photorealistic CGI creatures that replaced the original cartoon versions of Donatello, Michaelangelo, Raphael, and Leonardo, the supporting cast was largely solid. As it was with Gone Girl, I find Tyler Perry most tolerable when he’s in small roles like Baxter Stockman, and I will never not appreciate William Fichtner being added to a film’s roster. Most central to that film, however, was Will Arnett and Megan Fox as the newscasters who befriend the turtles, and its Arnett’s character that is the focus of the latest clip for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, getting chummy with another New York legend, namely Knicks player Carmelo Anthony.
You can check out that new clip right below, as well as some 10 minutes of B-Roll footage from the production. There’s a lot of images of Laura Linney, as well as Stephen Amell‘s Casey Jones and Fox’s April O’Neil, but it’s most interesting to just see how a movie as dependent on visual effects – and I mean, tons and tons and tons of visual effects – looks before the computers have their way with it. So, even though there is a severe lack of turtles and other mutants here, it’s worth your time.

And here’s the official synopsis for the anticipated sequel:
Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael return to theaters this summer to battle bigger, badder villains, alongside April O’Neil (Megan Fox), Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett), and a newcomer: the hockey-masked vigilante Casey Jones (Stephen Amell). After supervillain Shredder escapes custody, he joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) and two dimwitted henchmen, Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (WWE Superstar Stephen “Sheamus” Farrelly), to unleash a diabolical plan to take over the world. As the Turtles prepare to take on Shredder and his new crew, they find themselves facing an even greater evil with similar intentions: the notorious Krang.
