Paramount has released the first Terminator Genisys trailer teaser for director Alan Taylor's (Thor: The Dark World) new entry in the franchise, ahead of tomorrow's debut of the full-length trailer.  The story begins just like the original film, as future John Connor (Jason Clarke) in a war-ravaged 2029 sends his loyal soldier, Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to save his mother (Emilia Clarke) from a Terminator programmed to kill her.  What he finds on the other side, however, is not what he expected.  This new "trailer teaser" trend is certainly annoying, but the shots that Paramount chose to unveil from the trailer today are certainly curious.  I was already getting a Back to the Future Part II vibe from the plot details, and this footage seems to suggest that Genisys is revisiting not only The Terminator, but also Terminator 2.

Hit the jump to watch the first Terminator Genisys trailer teaser, and check back tomorrow for the full-length debut trailer.  The film also stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dayo Okeniyi, Courtney B. Vance, Matt Smith, Byung-hun Lee, and J. K. SimmonsTerminator Genisys opens in theaters on July 1, 2015.
