A few days ago, someone snapped a photo of a triptych poster for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.  The poster not only provided a shot at confirmed villain Electro (Jamie Foxx), but also images of Rhino (Paul Giamatti) and, far off in the distance, Green Goblin.  Rather than keeping the image fuzzy and audiences guessing, there's now a high-res close-up of the character.  We won't spoil it here (even though I'm betting Sony will make it official very soon if they're willing to put it on a poster in the first place), but you can see who it is after the jump.

Hit the jump to check out the close-up.  The film also stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Dane DeHaan, Chris Cooper, Felicity Jones, B.J. Novak, Colm Feore, and Sally FieldThe Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens in 3D on May 2, 2014. [Again: Spoiler Warning]

Twitter user @Tupacca took a close-up of the poster, and Goblin looks a lot like DeHaan, who plays Harry Osborne.  In the comics, his father Norman (Cooper) is the first Goblin, and then Harry picks up the mantle when his dad dies.  While the thought of Chris Cooper cruising around on a glider provides me no shortage of amusement, DeHaan as Goblin makes more sense.

Here's the official synopsis for The Amazing Spider-Man 2:

In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
