2014 has been a pretty good year for film, and while there are still plenty more movies to look forward to in this final quarter, it never hurts to stop and think back on what we’ve already seen. Groundbreaking dramas like Boyhood challenged the entire structure of filmmaking, superhero blockbusters like Guardians of the Galaxy reminded us that a good movie is a good movie no matter the genre, and comedies like 22 Jump Street simultaneously made us laugh and think about the entire idea of movie sequels as a concept.
