After dominating the box office with Furious 7, James Wan is hard at work on his The Conjuring sequel, The Conjuring: The Enfield Poltergeist. The film sees Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson return as real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren as they confront a new supernatural threat. Plot details are still under wraps at this time, but the subtitles suggest that the film will be based on the famed poltergeist activity reported in England during the late '70s that allegedly led to the demonic possession of an 11-year-old girl.  With production underway Wan and Farmiga have taken to social media to celebrate the return of their "ghoulbuster" clan.

The Conjuring 2 started filming late last month, and Wan kicked things off by having a priest bless the production. I mean, hey, never hurts to cover your bases. While Wan is set for some large-scale action when he turns his attention Aquaman, for now he's back embracing his roots in horror with the second installment in what could become a major horror franchise (Wan has an unusually strong track record with box office success). Hopefully The Conjuring 2 can match the quality of the first film, which Wan directed with confident, technical precision. Especially since this may be Wan's last horror film for a while. After Aquaman, Wan's reportedly set to direct Robotech with a huge amount of producing credits along the way, and if The Conjuring 2 is a success, there's no doubt he'll be fielding even more offers.
