Some people bring home T-shirts from their vacations, other people bring back demons. And when the latter happens, things can get very messy. Director Greg McLean has fashioned a supremely creepy scenario with his latest film, The Darkness, in which an unsuspecting family (comprised, in part, of Kevin Bacon, Rhada Mitchell, and Gotham’s baby Bruce Wayne, David Mazouz) return from a trip to the Grand Canyon with a demon in tow, one who possesses their son (Mazouz) and causes him to start leaving some pretty disturbing images around the house. But what else is he capable of?

In an exclusive motion poster for the upcoming movie, you can see what some of those freaky drawings look like. In the poster, they seem very much made of blood, though in the trailer they appear more like black tar. Either way, it’s creepy and perhaps worst of all, a total mess. But since when do demons ever respect good housekeeping?

Check out the new motion poster below, along with the official synopsis. The film is set to open nationwide on May 13th (which happens to be a Friday the 13th, just to be extra spooky).
