Netflix's The Defenders looks like it will be reuniting just about anyone and everyone we've seen (and will soon see) over the four-series run of Marvel shows. Most of these casting announcements made sense; the title team will be composed of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, after all. And even the supporting cast didn't come as that much of a surprise considering that they help to keep our heroes alive, informed, and able to do what they do. But today's news that Elodie Yung would be returning as Elektra in The Defenders is an interesting one.

If you haven't caught up with the entirety of Daredevil's second season, you should probably skip on down to the next paragraph since this contains spoilers. At the end of that season, which introduced Yung as Matt Murdock's former flame and femme fatale, Elektra was well and truly dead. However, since the ninja clan known as The Hand had marked her as the very powerful entity known as Black Sky, they reclaimed her broken body and apparently brought her back to life. So just how she's going to factor into the plot of The Defenders is anyone's guess at this point.

The Defenders include Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), Danny Rand (Finn Jones), with Sigourney Weaver as the unnamed villain, the return of Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Misty Knight (Simone Missick), Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), Malcolm Ducasse (Eka Darville), Trish Walker (Rachel Taylor), Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss), Stick (Scott Glenn), the recently announced Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) and of course, Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson).
