The Endless isn't necessarily a cult film, not in the traditional sense, but cults and the quest for meaning set the stage for Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson's horror hybrid about a pair of bickering brothers who head back to the cult they escaped as kids in search of answers. The Spring and Resolution filmmakers return to the realm of Lovecraftian horrors in The Endless, a semi-sequel to their 2012 debut collaboration Resolution, this time stepping in front of the camera to star in the film as well.

Benson and Moorhead spent the last year touring The Endless around the festival circuit, and it's currently sitting pretty at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes -- no small feat considering the film's mysterious, challenging subject matter and the fact that it exists as a sequel to a movie most viewers haven't seen. But The Endless stands on its own whether you're a fan of Resolution or not (and if you haven't seen it, you've got a real treat waiting after this one -- or before, they work in either order); it's a clever concentrated dose of existential terror and character drama that defies easy categorization as a horror-comedy-drama-sci-fi mashup. Whatever you want to call it, The Endless is real good and we're happy to debut an exclusive clip that teases one of the film's most quietly culty moments.

The Endless also stars Callie Hernandez, Emily Montague, Lew Temple, Tate Ellington, and James Jordan. Well Go USA will release the film in NY on April 6 and Los Angeles on April 13, followed by a nationwide rollout. You can get all the screening details on the official website and catch a sneak peek in our exclusive clip below.

Here's the official synopsis for The Endless:

"Following their Lovecraftian modern cult classic SPRING, acclaimed filmmakers Moorhead and Benson return with this mind-bending thriller that follows two brothers who receive a cryptic video message inspiring them to revisit the UFO death cult they escaped a decade earlier. Hoping to find the closure that they couldn’t as young men, they’re forced to reconsider the cult’s beliefs when confronted with unexplainable phenomena surrounding the camp. As the members prepare for the coming of a mysterious event, the brothers race to unravel the seemingly impossible truth before their lives become permanently entangled with the cult."
