Antoine Fuqua’s The Equalizer is due to make its world premiere on Sunday, September 7th at the Toronto International Film Festival so Sony Pictures has been busy dishing out promo material to pave the way to the event.  The film is based on the 80s TV show and stars Denzel Washington as Robert McCall, an ex-CIA agent who comes out of retirement to save a young woman (Chloe Moretz) from the Russian mob.

We’ve shared trailers, TV spots, clips and posters before, but now we’ve got a brand new The Equalizer trailer and poster to throw into the mix as well as two featurettes for the film, one detailing what Washington’s character is all about and another focusing on his specific set of skills.  Hit the jump to check them all out.

Here’s the trailer, featurettes and poster, respectively:

And here’s the TIFF description for The Equalizer:

Robert McCall is deadly, but doesn't look it.  As played by Denzel Washington, he is quiet, reserved, and methodical.  He sits at the same table in the same diner for his meals each day.  He lines up his cutlery just so.  He tries not to talk to strangers.  But there's something about Elina (Chloë Grace Moretz, also appearing at the Festival in Clouds of Sils Maria and Laggies) that breaks through Bob's barriers.  She crashes into his diner in a clearly desperate state.  She works as an escort, in thrall to a Russian crime gang not known for their gentle ways.  As Bob's protective impulse begins to extend to the ragged, volatile Elina, it's only a matter of time before he puts his lethal skills to use.  Because Bob is The Equalizer.
