Though it’s a shame we didn’t get to see more of King Shark on The Flash when we did, at least there’s still Gorilla Grodd. The character made his debut earlier in season 1, and even though the producers were only working with a television budget for the CG effects, he came out looking pretty cool. Now, after remaining in the shadows and sparking legends about himself throughout Central City, the beastial telepath returns in season 2 as previewed in a new teaser for the show's November 17th episode.

Grodd proved to be more than Barry could handle on his own the first time out; his ability to get inside the speedster’s head nearly killed him. Thankfully, the Grant Gustin character used his love for Iris (Candice Patton) to pull him out of the gorilla’s thrall. So far it looks like Grodd’s return is a rehashing of past events — he kidnapped Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and he’ll kidnap Caitlin (Danielle Panabker) in the new episode. Hopefully there’s more to this than meets the eye.

Earlier in October, Panabaker teased her character’s encounter with Grodd, saying “he’s got some unfinished business” with Caitlin and that we’ll “understand their connection from before.” All we’ve seen previously is glimpses of his captivity at Star Labs. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) was the one who let him out, but Caitlin, it seems, doesn’t get a free pass so easily.

Watch the promo below. The episode will air next Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST.

Here’s the official plot synopsis for the episode, titled “Gorilla Warfare”:

Grodd returns to Central City and kidnaps Caitlin. Barry and team race to find her before it’s too late. Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) plans his first date with the new barista at Jitters, Kendra Saunders (guest star Ciara Renée) and Patty (guest star Shantel VanSanten) begins to suspect Barry is hiding something from her.
