If anything is certain, it’s that The Flash’s third season will be fit to bursting with speedsters! With the recent reveal of Keiynan Lonsdale’s Kid Flash costume, fans are champing at the bit for more information on a season which promises the “Flashpoint” storyline among other things. But before you could even slap on your red tights to run around Central City, a brand new speedster has been revealed in a recent article from Screencrush.

The latest speedster’s identity has yet to be revealed, though the actor behind the mask is seemingly Todd Lasance from the Vampire Diaries and Spartacus. However, The CW has yet to make either the identity of the speedster known or confirmed that Mr. Lasance has joined the cast. As for the costume itself, it's somewhat reminiscent of last season’s big bad, Zoom, with the black color and highlights, though it obviously is missing the more terrifying facial features of that suit. Considering what happened to Zoom last season, it’s doubtful that this is a return of Hunter Zolomon.

Here's a look at the set photos that unofficially revealed the new character:

The most likely candidate for the character is Daniel West, the third man to take up the mantle of the Reverse Flash following Eobard Thawne and Hunter Zolomon. Daniel West was a creation of the rebooted DC Comics Universe, dubbed the New 52, several years ago. West presented a villain with close ties to Barry Allen as Daniel was related to the love of his life, Iris West. When Danny found himself with super speed one day, he used it in an attempt to go back in time and end his abusive father’s life. Barry was there to stop him, of course, and Daniel eventually ended up as an unwilling member of the Suicide Squad, if you can believe it, adding serious power to the group of anti-heroes.

At the end of Season 2, Barry went back in time to save his mother’s life, seemingly changing the present astronomically in the process. When Season 3 begins, things will most likely be extremely different from what we’ve known before. Aside from this new speedster, the season also sees the addition of Tom Felton of Harry Potter fame in an unknown role. All questions will eventually be revealed when Flash’s third season returns to The CW on Tuesday, October 4th.
