We at Collider have the exclusive debut of the trailer for the upcoming political thriller The Last Witness. Directed by Piotr Szkopiak (Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators) and based on true events, the film takes place in 1947 England and stars Alex Pettyfer as a journalist who investigates a string of suicides that may not be suicides at all. His investigation leads him to trying to uncover the identity of an Eastern European refugee, and his connection to the cover up of one of Stalin’s most notorious crimes by the British Government.

The film looks to be a pretty tense and atmospheric mystery, with a swell ensemble cast rounded out by Michael Gambon, Robert Więckiewicz, and Westworld actress Talulah Riley. Szkopiak co-wrote the screenplay with Paul Szambowski.
