Coming off the massive success of The Masked Singer, creator Wonwoo Park, the man responsible for the singing competition’s format, is bringing a classic Korean competition show to Fox. The network’s unscripted studio has sealed an exclusive first-look development deal with the creator, which includes the adaptation of the talent competition series Lotto Singer for American audiences.

The premise of Lotto Singer is one part talent competition and one part traditional betting competition, with viewers being given the ability to win cash prizes by betting on the performances of the show’s contestants. The series, created by park produced by Seoul Broadcasting System’s FormatEast, premiered last year to much success, garnering the network’s highest viewer rating of the season.

“Thanks to the creative genius and vision of Wonwoo Park, the success of The Masked Singer and the impact it has had on Fox and numerous other networks throughout the world cannot be understated,” said Allison Wallach, executive vice president and head of Fox Alternative Entertainment. “Wonwoo’s ability to identify and develop concepts that are unique in premise and universal in appeal makes him one of the most innovative producers in the business, and we are excited to see where this partnership will take us.”

The Masked Singer creator and CEO of dI turn has also developed a number of other series for numerous networks, including a local Korean version of Top Gear, the hit U.K. auto show, and series like Mama, The Song Was Born, and Million Seller. He is also currently working with Sony’s Stellify Media to produce My Ranking, a singing game show.

“Korea had long been an unnoticed market,” Park added, “But over the last few years formats such as ‘The King of Masked Singer’ have been sold all over the world. Many K-POP singers are massively popular around the world, and Korean production companies clearly have the ability to produce high-efficiency programming. I expect this collaboration with Fox to create more hits; and our team here at dI turn is ready.”
