Yesterday we got our first look at Nicolas Winding Refn’s The Neon Demon, starring Elle Fanning as a talented young model who enters a dangerous world of superficiality, power, and violence, which will premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. (Or according to the trailer, is she the danger?) Now, a new, super-stylized red band trailer from the UK gives us not only a deeper idea of the film’s lush, frenetic visuals, but also a quick glimpse of Keanu Reeves (in which he’s basically like, “nope!”)

The pulsing soundtrack and illuminati-like symbol that flashes throughout the teaser create a hypnotic atmosphere for the work, and certainly feels like Refn’s signature style (he’s also directed the Pusher trilogy, Drive, and Valhalla Rising). Check out the new red band trailer below:

Reeves and Fanning are also joined by Christina Hendricks (who recently co-starred in the very fun series Hap and Leonard), as well as Bella Heathcote, Jena Malone, and Desmond Harrington. The film looks dark, violent, visually rich, and also is refreshingly anchored by its mostly female cast. Also of note, the film will be released by Amazon Studios, which is slowly carving out a unique niche in both film and TV (with Spike Lee’s Chi-Raq as well as TV properties like Transparent, Mozart in the Jungle — which is very underrated — and the excellent UK co-production Catastrophe).

And if you're craving more Keanu, (no not that Keanu, although also valid), check out Steve's interview with him about John Wick: Chapter Two and more.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Neon Demon:

When aspiring model Jesse moves to Los Angeles, her youth and vitality are devoured by a group of beauty-obsessed women who will take any means necessary to get what she has.
