Starz has released the first trailer for its upcoming historical miniseries The Spanish Princess, a follow-up to The White Queen and The White Princess. Moving forward in time a little bit, The Spanish Princess focuses on Catherine of Aragon (Charlotte Hope), who comes to England to marry the Tutor Prince Arthur (Angus Imrie) and rule this foreign land. But, things don't exactly work out as planned for anyone involved, though Catherine believes she is destined by God to being a Queen of England. But to marry Arthur's younger brother Henry (Ruairi O’Connor) is considered a sin. Despite the machinations of the court, though, Catherine finds a way to fulfill her destiny.

Catherine's story is often nothing more than a historical footnote, being known mostly as the woman Henry VIII divorces to marry Anne Boleyn, sparking the Protestant Reformation in England, and setting off a cavalcade of wives for the King, several of whom lost their heads. But The Spanish Princess starts much earlier, focusing on Catherine's journey to this strange, rainy place, and how she comes to shape the rule of this young king who would become so infamous.

Collider was also able to visit one of the filming locations for The Spanish Princess last fall, and will have coverage of that plus interviews with the cast and creators coming soon! In the meantime, catch up on those previous series and get ready for this new tale, premiering this spring on Starz. The series also stars Aaron CobhamStephanie Levi-JohnElliot CowanLaura Carmichael (pictured below), Georgie HenleyAngus Imrie, and Richard Pepper. Catherine of Aragon is the Princess of Spain, who has been promised the English throne all her life. She arrives in a rain-lashed England with her glorious and diverse court including her ladies-in-waiting Lina and Rosa. When her husband dies suddenly, the throne seems lost to Catherine until she sets her sights on the new heir, the future King Henry VIII.
