Written and directed by Studio Ghibli co-founder Isao Takahata, The Tale of Princess Kaguya is a gorgeously animated film based on the folktale of a young girl who is found in a bamboo tree and is raised to be a princess.  The film received an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature, and it’s hard to argue against its inclusion.  Click here for my review.
