Sasha opens up tonight's hour with a restless sleep that leads to an early morning departure from the walled city. Is she hunting? Clearing the surrounding forest of Walkers? Nope, just taking out her frustrations with some target practice using family photographs for clay pigeons. She appears to be having some sort of anxiety attack as she keeps glancing around, waiting for either the Walkers (or maybe Alexandria's guards) to stop her.

Meanwhile, Rick, Carol, and Daryl are out near the abandoned house planning on how to retrieve all the guns from the armory. They're keeping this little coup d'etat to themselves for the moment since they want the rest of the group to try to get along. A lone Walker wanders into their sights and Carol puts it down. Strangely enough, they find another W carved into its forehead.

Michonne is trying on her new uniform; she and Rick have a brief discussion about what Deanna's play is, appointing them as the law in town. They agree that the leader is smart, even if they don't agree on why she's making these decisions. Deanna herself tells Rick, Michonne and Maggie that she sees a real government returning to town one day. They all seem to agree with her, though some of them aren't being completely honest. In the meantime, they find out that there's no lookout up in the watchtower, and Sasha asks to take the lion's share of the shifts, but Deanna shuts her down for the time being.

Out in the woods, Daryl is joined by Aaron. (Do we 100% trust this guy at this point? Even if he's not out to harm anyone, do we think he has what it takes to survive, or at the least, not put Daryl in a compromising position?) They happen upon a horse whom Aaron has nicknamed "Buttons" thanks to one of the local kids. Ladies and gents, if you wanted to love Daryl even more, his attempt to go all cowboy and rope a wild horse should have done just that! Too bad an approaching group of Walkers spooks the horse and nearly gets the drop on Daryl and Aaron. The seasoned duo takes them out rather easily and continue tracking the horse. The poor beast wanders into a pack of Walkers who take it down and rip out its entrails. (If viewers stopped watching the show due to its depiction of killing dogs, then this scene is about to spark a whole new round of toothless outrage.) Now the question is, will Daryl and the others end up penned in like Buttons the Horse?

Back in town, Carol's doing her best bit of espionage acting as a ditzy domestic type while actually setting up the townsfolk to have their armory raided by Rick & Co. Keeping up pretenses, everyone arrives to Deanna's party in their Sunday best. (It's still jarring to see our rugged group of survivors in civilian clothes, all cleaned up and letting their guard down. There's something both unnatural and off-putting about it.) Rick has an exchange with Jessie (and her creepy husband) that allows him to appreciate the chance the town has given them to return to a somewhat normal life; it also ends with her son stamping Rick's hand with an 'A' making him "official." While Rick and the others make the rounds at the party, Aaron invites Daryl in for spaghetti dinner. Lo and behold, Aaron shows Daryl an epic garage full of enough spare parts to build a new motorcycle. The vehicle comes with a price: Aaron wants Daryl to ride the roads as a recruiter, replacing Eric. Daryl accepts.

Since the party goes on until question marks, Carol heads to the armory to start raiding some small guns from the footlocker. Unfortunately, the neighborhood kid Sam catches her in the act. He followed her for some more cookies, but instead, he gets a threat from Carol that, if he tells anyone that he saw her taking the guns, he'll find himself tied to a tree in the middle of the forest, left tied up and waiting for the Walkers. Carol's just the best. (As a friend of mine pointed out, she learned intimidation from the best: her dead husband, Ed.)

Not exactly the life of the party, Sasha has a Post Traumatic Stress episode and freaks out on all the guests. Later, Deanna approaches Sasha to figure out what happened to her. Sasha tells her that their town and their false sense of security isn't real, but the leader refuses to accept that. She hands Sasha a box of ammo and lets her outside the gate.

Sam presumably keeps quiet because Carol hands out the guns to Rick and Daryl, except, surprisingly, Daryl refuses, thinking he's found his niche in Alexandria. Michonne also seems to be adjusting to her new life as she quite literally hangs up her katana. When they come back into town, Rick waves to Jessie and her husband, but then creepily puts his hand on his new gun as he watches them walk back into their home. Then, to make things even creepier, he senses a Walker on the outside of the wall and puts his "A" stamped hand up to the divider between them, almost longingly.

What the fuck is going on? It seems like everyone besides Rick, Carol, and Sasha are quite comfortable in their new environment. But for the trio that is not okay with things, they are very far from okay. Sasha's going all Vietnam vet on the townsfolk, Carol's acting like a superspy, and Rick is about to (possibly) bring a fresh wave of death and chaos to this town ... or at least to the husband of the new object of his affection. It feels like the wolves are among the sheep, and it's only a matter of time before the slaughter ensues.

Rating: ★★★★ Very good — Damn fine television

Miscellanea:

Rick: "They're the luckiest people I've ever met, and they keep gettin' luckier." Daryl: "How's that?" Rick: "Now we're here." (I would watch Lincoln and Reedus in a Dragnet reboot.)

Carol: "We said we were taking me out shooting. I couldn't come back with a full mag."

Daryl: "Can you tell the difference between a good guy and a bad guy?"

Carol: "You know what's great about this place? I get to be invisible again."

R.I.P. Buttons.

Aaron and Daryl are about to become the fanfic circles newest obsession. #Aaryl #Darron

Abraham: "I am a large man."
