The upcoming season finale of The Walking Dead will surely leave fans in a tizzy as infamous comic book villain is said to appear in the flesh after being teased for months. As if you needed more reasons to get pumped for what’s coming, AMC announced on Monday that the finale will be an extra 30 minutes.

Much like the season 5 finale, The Walking Dead season 6 will finish with a 90-minute episode, while sources for The Hollywood Reporter claim Jeffrey Dean Morgan will make his Negan debut during the episode.

Actor Andrew Lincoln (Rick) previously teased the finale to Entertainment Weekly:

I felt sick to my stomach when I read the script. It was the first day in the whole six years of working on The Walking Dead that I was late for work because I woke up in the middle of the night and I couldn’t get back to sleep. I was so angry and frustrated and I felt sick. And that was just after reading it.

Elsewhere, Josh McDermitt (Eugene) told THR:

Everyone is so focused on the finale but the final two [episodes] are full-throttle for sure. When I read these next two episodes — I typically go through a script in about an hour but I read them both in about 20 minutes because I couldn't turn the page fast enough. It just left a feeling in my stomach after reading these. We're in new territory with the show now and we're telling things in a different way that the show hasn't done before. It stays with you.

Considering Sunday’s shocking episode, the final two episode are can’t-miss events. AMC released a clip and teaser for the penultimate episode, which airs on the network this Sunday at 9 p.m. EST. The finale will air on April 3 from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
