Developer Outerloop Games and publisher Annapurna Interactive recently revealed their hilarious and unique action-adventure RPG game, Thirsty Suitors. Don’t keep your usual genre expectations with this title because it’s got several twists and turns to keep you entertained.

This story-driven adventure is told through turn-based battles, skateboarding, and cooking. It follows the life of Jala, a young woman who is on a life journey of learning to accept and love herself as well as confronting past mistakes. Family, friendship, and failed romance are the heart of her story as she juggles the many challenges of living in a small-town while dealing with everything from a pushy grandmother and parent expectations to a jilted best friend.

Combat for the game includes special abilities, upgrades, and a mood system that aids players in gaining the upper hand in confrontations. Jala will be able to battle exes, punks, suitors, and more. Skateboarding offers a different type of gameplay with the ability to perform combos, moves, and challenges. It also appears that it will be the main mode of transportation in the game as players travel across Timber Hills.

Cooking is where the real action is. Jala will use this everyday skill to help her in improving her relationships and impressing her seemingly never impressed mother. No matter the hilarious situations Jala finds herself in, it is all in the pursuit of finding her way in life while keeping true to herself.

The game does not currently have a release date, but it is expected to receive one soon. It will be available on Steam upon release. Watch the trailer and read the synopsis below:

Thirsty Suitors follows Jala as she returns home for her sister’s wedding and has to face everything she ran away from: her brutal breakup with her childhood best friend, her immigrant parents’ expectations, claustrophobic small-town gossip, the string of messily broken hearts she left behind and her interfering grandmother, who has begun to send suitors to her home in the hopes of finding a match.
