I think we can all agree This is Spinal Tap is one of the best movies of the ‘80s and one of director Rob Reiner’s best films. I’ve probably watched the film dozens of times and each time find something new to laugh about. If you’ve never seen it, the 1984 mockumentary follows the fictional British heavy metal band Spinal Tap on tour around the United States in 1982. Along the way it satirizes everything about heavy metal and the lifestyle of rock stars. Trust me, if you have never seen This is Spinal Tap, watch it immediately. You’ll probably buy the soundtrack the second the film ends. The film stars Rob Reiner, Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer. Paul Shaffer, Fred Willard, Fran Drescher, Bruno Kirby, Howard Hesseman, Ed Begley, Jr., Patrick Macnee, Anjelica Huston, Vicki Blue, Dana Carvey, Billy Crystal, Brinke Stevens, and Linnea Quigley all play supporting roles or make cameo appearances in the movie.

Anyway, the reason I got to talk about Spinal Tap this morning is Matt Taylor and Vice-Press have partnered up to create a cool This is Spinal Tap poster produced under license from Studiocanal. The limited screen print has two versions: the regular is an edition of 120 and the “None More Black” variant is an edition of 30. If you’ve seen the movie, the variant is a fun take on the “Smell the Glove” album cover. The variant will also come with a free mystery enamel pin designed by Florey. Vice-Press says they be randomly inserting a very small number into orders of the regular edition.

Check out the posters below. They’re on sale now on Vice-Press.com.
