While the action cast is set for both Thor: The Dark World and Kick-Ass 2, the comic book movie sequels will be getting additional comedic cameos.  Chris O'Dowd (The Sapphires) recently revealed that he will be doing a small part in Alan Taylor's Thor: The Dark World and it appears to be opposite star Natalie Portman, who is reprising her role from the first film.  While O'Dowd likely won't be donning a cape or cowl, Kick-Ass comics writer Mark Millar and illustrator John Romita, Jr. will be in full regalia in a fight between good and evil in Jeff Wadlow's Kick-Ass 2.

Speaking recently to Indiewire, O'Dowd said the following about his small role in Thor: The Dark World:

I think I'll do more dramatic stuff and I think I have some stuff coming out that's a bit more dramatic. I don't know if I'd do an action movie because I don't know if I could keep a straight face honestly, I just think it's so silly. Like I love watching them but I can't imagine me doing one. Actually, you know what I've done, just for fun because I didn't think there was any way that I could be in a superhero movie, so I've done a scene in the new "Thor" movie, just for that. I just do like one scene, which was quite fun.

When we look back on O'Dowd's tweet from last year, it seems as if perhaps he's moving in on Jane Foster (Portman) with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) out of the way...for the moment:

So today I'm filming a date scene with Natalie Portman.

In other comic sequel news, Millar and Romita, Jr. revealed not only their heroic/villainous costumes, but the fact that they'd be seen fighting each other in Kick-Ass 2 (via IFC):

"They put us in the fight scene and I was supposed to beat the snot out of Mark in the battle scene, and then they were going to do close-ups of us fighting, and Mark couldn’t make it. So we’re in the fight scene, but it’s really difficult to see us. The director said when we do the third one, he said, 'I’ll get you all the close-up.' The photos of me in costume are pretty funny. They’re cringe-worthy, but since I have no pride, I don’t mind people finding out about them."

Check out the cringe-worthy costumes of Millar as a member of Kick-Ass' Justice Forever and Romita Jr. as one of The Motherfucker's Toxic Mega-Cunts:
