I shouldn’t have to sell a movie more than saying Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are in it. Literally, that’s it. If you have seen their amazing work over the last few years whether it be hosting the Golden Globes together, starring on Saturday Night Live, or leading two amazing NBC comedies (30 Rock and Parks and Recreation), these women are two of the funniest people in comedy today and anytime they’re involved in a project it’s worth your time.

Which brings me to director Jason Moore's (Pitch Perfect) comedy, Sisters, opening December 18th. The film stars Fey and Poehler as two disconnected sisters who have to return home to clean out their rooms before their parents sell the family house. While there, they opt to have one last hurrah and throw a huge house party for their former classmates. The film also stars Maya RudolphIke BarinholtzJohn Leguizamo, Dianne WiestJohn Cena and James Brolin.

When Sisters was filming on Long Island I got to visit the set with a few other reporters. As you might imagine, getting to watch Fey and Poehler up close was a laughter-filled event. I’m extremely confident the finished film should be a fun ride.

With my set visit embargo lifting today (look for a set report soon), Universal sent over a number of new images from the film. Check them out below. If you missed the Sisters trailer you can watch it here.

Here’s the official synopsis for Sisters:

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler reunite for Sisters, a new film from Pitch Perfect director Jason Moore about two disconnected sisters summoned home to clean out their childhood bedroom before their parents sell the family house.  Looking to recapture their glory days, they throw one final high-school-style party for their classmates, which turns into the cathartic rager that a bunch of ground-down adults really need.

Fey produces the comedy alongside Jay Roach (Meet the Parents series) and John S. Lyons (Austin Powers in Goldmember), and Poehler executive produces alongside Jeff Richmond and Brian Bell from a script by Paula Pell (TV’s Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock).
