TNT billed the period gangster noir Mob City as a limited event series, airing the six episodes in two-hour chunks over three weeks in December.  However, the network and creator Frank Darabont were open about their desire to do more episodes.  But the ratings just weren't there: the season finale managed just 1.4 million viewers and a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demo.  A TNT spokesperson released this statement:

Mob City was created as a three-week television event and we are incredibly proud of the six hours we presented of this remarkable drama.  Although the ratings of the limited series haven’t warranted more hours we are eager to work with Frank Darabont again and were delighted to bring the vibrant world of Mob City to life."

I was mixed on Mob City, but generally like Darabont's work and hope he gets another show on the air sooner than later.  Will you miss Mob City?
