[Update: Universal just sent out new Trainwreck images, a poster and a red band trailer. You can find them all below.]

Universal Pictures just released the very first trailer for TrainwreckJudd Apatow’s latest directorial effort. Written by and starring Amy Schumer, the comedy revolves around a magazine writer who has spent her life believing that monogamy is unrealistic and choosing to be free and uninhibited. However, when she begins falling for a charming sports doctor (Bill Hader), she starts to reconsider the notion of “boring romantic commitment.”

I can't say there are very many laugh-out-loud worthy moments in this trailer and there are some pretty heavy-handed romcom cliches in there, but Schumer has a unique charm that certainly could carry the feature. You can check out the debut Trainwreck trailer for yourself below. The film also stars Colin Quinn, Brie Larson, John Cena, Tilda Swinton, and LeBron James. Trainwreck opens in theaters on July 17th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Trainwreck:

Since she was a little girl, it's been drilled into Amy's (Schumer) head by her rascal of a dad (Colin Quinn) that monogamy isn't realistic. Now a magazine writer, Amy lives by that credo—enjoying what she feels is an uninhibited life free from stifling, boring romantic commitment—but in actuality, she's kind of in a rut. When she finds herself starting to fall for the subject of the new article she's writing, a charming and successful sports doctor named Aaron Conners (Bill Hader), Amy starts to wonder if other grown-ups, including this guy who really seems to like her, might be on to something.
