Now that the first trailer for Michael Bay's Transformers: The Last Knight has debuted, we're gonna need a minute to take it all in. There's the ever-present human characters, civilian and military of course, who seem to be caught up in a post-apocalyptic struggle of sorts. But while the Autobots and Decepticons normally take the center stage, there's so much going on in this fifth installment that it's tough to see how all the individual pieces--a flying three-headed robot dragon, Nazis, Arthurian legend, Autobot-on-Autobot violence, and possibly Unicron--will eventually come together.
We're going to have to wait until Summer 2017 to find out how the plot of this thing pans out, but in the meantime, we can enjoy a selection of 60 images pulled from the trailer and Bay's behind-the-scenes production video. They show off a lot of great looks at the human cast, but are currently a little scant regarding the robots in disguise. I guarantee there will be more to come from Paramount in the months ahead.
Starring Mark Wahlberg, Laura Haddock, Stanley Tucci, Jerrod Carmichael, John Goodman, John Turturro, Josh Duhamel, Isabela Moner, Gil Birmingham, and Jean Dujardin, Transformers: The Last Knight opens in theaters on June 23, 2017.
