Paramount has released a Transformers: Age of Extinction trailer for director Michael Bay's fourth entry in the action franchise.  In the movie, Mark Wahlberg plays a burgeoning inventor/family man who runs into trouble when he accidentally discovers a beat-up Transformer.  This trailer probably gives us an accurate idea of the movie since it doesn't make any sense.  It starts off by being excited about the physics of the Transformers, and then goes in a completely different direction with Optimus Prime saying that humanity faces a grave threat, and the only way to save the day is to ride around on a robot dinosaur.  I thought I would at least be amused by this trailer, but the franchise just feels incredibly stale at this point.  I don't see anything here that's worth being excited about.  For all of the CGI wizardry, the only moment that caught my eye was when a guy took a tire to the face.

Transformers: Age of Extinction also stars Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles, Li Bingbing, T.J. Miller, Han Geng, and Titus Welliver, and opens June 27, 2014.  Watch the new Transformers: Age of Extinction trailer after the jump.
