First Look at Sentinel Prime from TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON; Plus New Details on the Story

     February 28, 2011

The latest issue of Empire puts new Transformers: Dark of the Moon Autobot Sentinel Prime on the cover alongside Optimus Prime.  If you weren’t a fan of robot beards from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, that’s too bad.  Sentinal Prime not only has facial hair, he has braided facial hair.  It shows that not only will he whoop some Decepticon ass, but he’ll go listen to your jam band afterwards.

Hit the jump to check out Sentinal Prime along with some other minor spoilers on the upcoming sequel.  Transformers: Dark of the Moon stars Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel, John Malkovich, Tyrese Gibson, Frances McDormand, and Ken Jeong.  The film opens in 3D on July 1st.

Empire reports that Sentinal Prime is “a big brother and mentor to Optimus Prime”.  Also, back in March of last year, Bay said that a Ferrari 458 Italia would be in the film as a new Autobot.  However, Empire is now reporting that the Ferrari is a Decepticon by the name of “Dreadbox”.  And speaking of Decepticons, there will be new companions for Starscream and Shockwave.

Okay, it’s about to get a bit spoilery so if you’re someone who comes to see a Transformers movie for the plot, then stop reading now.

There won’t be an army in this film and there will be a major battle in Chicago between the Decepticons and Autobots.  However, some heroes sneak into the city and use gliders to help the Autobots bring the hurt to the Decepticons.
