The long-lead marketing campaign for Transformers: The Last Knight continues, as the first poster banner for the fifth Transformers movie has been released online. Michael Bay returns to the director’s chair for a fifth go-around with the robots in disguise, with Mark Wahlberg’s inventor Cade Yaeger (in case you forgot, yes Mark Wahlberg really plays an inventor named Cade Yaeger) returning to further battle and/or team up with the titular Transformers as explosions and destruction run rampant in their wake.

This debut poster actually has a pretty neat throwback vibe to it, featuring Optimus Prime front and center ready to do battle with…something. I really do hope the font and visuals here signal a bit of a change in tone for The Last Knight. I think we’ve had just about enough of the sun-soaked gritty destruction—bring on something a bit more colorful.

Story details for The Last Knight are under wraps at the moment, but after the release of Transformers: Age of Extinction—which grossed $1.1 billion worldwide—Paramount assembled a writer’s room headed up by Akiva Goldsman (The Da Vinci Code, I, Robot) to flesh out the Transformers universe and plan a series of sequels and spinoffs. Thus, we can reasonably expect The Last Knight to not only continue the story of Cade Yaeger, but also potentially broaden the scope of the Transformers universe and set up storylines for films to come. In other words, five movies in the Transformers franchise isn’t going away anytime soon.
