Showtime has unveiled a mysterious new teaser for David Lynch's Twin Peaks, one which fits right in with the mysterious and quirky nature of the cult classic series. The saga of the title town and its citizens will continue on the premium network in 2017 and will feature the return of Kyle MachLachlan as FBI Agent Dale Cooper. Lynch also returns as director, and will also serve as executive producer with series co-creator Mark Frost. The new series is currently in production.

This teaser, which will also play on Showtime during the finales of Homeland and The Affair this Sunday, promises a return to the fantastic landscape of the original series, accompanied by some very familiar music. The associated press release also teases fans about some friendly faces that will be returning for the new series, but much of the mystery still awaits audiences. And that mystery is starting off early with this new teaser since I'm not sure exactly who is speaking, and I'm doubly unsure about who appears in the very blurry final shots.
