Lifetime called out to my generation today, and hopes nostalgia will force us to respond.  The network announced they will premiere The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story on September 1.  Per THR, the TV movie "promises to expose the challenges of growing up under public scrutiny while trying to maintain a squeaky clean image of their characters on- and offscreen."  (Time out.  I want to be incredulous, but there is an audience out there that will eat this up---I'm actually surprised Lifetime didn't do this sooner.  Still, this feels lower than Girl Meets World.  Time in.)

Dylan Everett plays Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Sam Kindseth is Dustin Diamond, Julian Works is Mario Lopez, Alyssa Lynch is Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, Tiera Skovbye is Elizabeth Berkley, and Taylor Russell McKenzie is Lark Voorhies.  Check out an image of the cast after the jump.

THR reports Jason Pepeyre will direct The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story from a teleplay by Ron McGee (The Nine Lives of Chloe King).  Original Saved by the Bell casting director Robin Lippin picked out the cast.
