Never one to shy away from self-marketing, Vin Diesel has taken to social media lately to give his own documentation of the behind-the-scenes work going into xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, the second sequel to his super-spy series, following the Ice Cube-led xXx: State of the Union. Recently, he's been posting pictures and videos of motorcycle stunt work, shooting with co-stars Ruby Rose and Donnie Yen, and posing with Deepika Padukone on Facebook and Instagram. The images and video dont give much of a sense of what we can expect about the action or, er, dramatic substance of the latest xXx film, but I'm willing to bet that The Return of Xander Cage will be a more exhilarating experience overall than State of the Union.

As they say in action sports... You gotta hit it 'til you get it! Haha. Each of the action sequences takes its own training, but it's all fun. Xander Zone!!! A video posted by Vin Diesel (@vindiesel) on
You know those days when everything goes right in training, well today was one of them. Haha. Blessed to have a coach like Jack on Our team. #xanderMXMAtraining A photo posted by Vin Diesel (@vindiesel) on
The training started a little rough early on... Pics like this remind me how far I have come. All for the character. Check out my Facebook page. Welcome to the Xander zone. A photo posted by Vin Diesel (@vindiesel) on
Here's the official synopsis for xXx: The Return of Xander Cage:
The third explosive chapter of the blockbuster franchise that redefined the spy thriller finds extreme athlete turned government operative Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) coming out of self-imposed exile and on a collision course with deadly alpha warrior Xiang and his team in a race to recover a sinister and seemingly unstoppable weapon known as Pandora’s Box. Recruiting an all-new group of thrill-seeking cohorts, Xander finds himself enmeshed in a deadly conspiracy that points to collusion at the highest levels of world governments. Packed with the series’ signature deadpan wit and bad-ass attitude, “xXx: THE RETURN OF XANDER CAGE” will raise the bar on extreme action with some of the most mind-blowing stunts to ever be caught on film.
