One of the most anticipated Netflix debuts of the summer for longtime animation fans is Voltron Legendary Defender, the latest installment in a storied franchise. This version hails from DreamWorks Animation and will premiere on Netflix on June 10th when all 11 binge-worthy episodes of the inaugural season will be available. With that release date just around the corner, a new sizzle reel for the series has made its way onto the internet with designs on getting you hyped to see giant robot lions battling in space.
Fans of The Legend of Korra should be particularly excited to check out the new Voltron series, regardless of their familiarity with the Lion Force and its story. Voltron Legendary Defender comes from executive producer Joaquim Dos Santos and co-executive producer Lauren Montgomery, part of the team behind the Avatar: The Last Airbender follow-up series. Additionally, Studio Mir was the animation house that brought Korra to life, and has now done an incredible job bringing the bold storytelling and exciting mythology of Voltron to the screen as well.
