The Wednesday TV ratings are in for last night's primetime shows; here are the highlights:
- There were plenty of premieres last night, but the clear, er, lion in the pack was Empire, Fox's wild, eccentric hip-hop melodrama. The Season 2 premiere at 9 p.m. EST scored a humongous 6.7 in the demo, just barely down from the Season 1 finale's 6.9, drawing in a little over 16 million viewers.
- Fox's new procedural Rosewood also scored an admirable 2.4 for its series premiere at 8 p.m. EST, with 7.36 million viewers.
- On CBS, the Survivor premiere at 8 p.m. scored a 2.4 in the key demo, with 9.61 viewers, down slightly from last season's premiere, which hit 2.7. Elsewhere, Big Brother scored a 2.2 in its finale with 6.46 viewers at 9:30 p.m., up from last week's rating of 1.8.
- At 8 p.m., NBC's Mysteries of Laura scored a slight uptick from the Season 1 finale, grabbing a 1.2 (and 6.9 million viewers) from the finale's 1.1; the series premiere scored a 2.0. Meanwhile, Law & Order: SVU's 9 p.m. premiere nabbed a 1.7 in the demos, with 8.2 million viewers, down from last season's premiere, which came in with a strong 2.2.
- Lastly, there was The CW. At 8 p.m., America's Next Top Model came in with a 0.4, with 1.26 million viewers, down from last week's 0.5, while A Wicked Offer hit a 0.2 (and 0.52 million viewers) in its 9 p.m. time slot, down from last week's 0.3.
