Several years ago, Terrence Malick was at work on a film set in the Austin music scene, but it takes him years to finish editing his projects. However, it looks like he’s nearing the end on the film, Weightless.

The British Board of Film Classification [via The Playlist] has revealed that the movie runs 145 minutes and 5 seconds long, and have stamped it with 15-rating for “infrequent strong sex, sex references.” Additionally, the BBFC has provided a cast list, which includes Ryan Gosling, Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Haley Bennett, Natalie Portman, Michael Fassbender, Val Kilmer, Benicio Del Toro, Clifton Collins Jr., Angela Bettis, Bérénice Marlohe, Florence Welch, and Holly Hunter. However, it remains to be seen how long any of these actors actually appear in the finished film. Knight of Cups has a stacked cast, but with the exception of some of the leading women, you have to look in the background to see many of the stars in the party scene.

The movie, set around intersecting relationships in the Austin music scene, is set for June 24th in the U.K., which is surprising since it’s only a month away and we haven’t even seen a trailer for it yet. The Playlist notes that it could open that weekend because of the Glastonbury music festival, and the film was shot during the Austin City Limits music festival. Not a bad coincidence, but I agree with The Playlist that a true debut for the film is more likely for next year at a major film festival rather than unceremoniously dropped on a coincidental date.

But the big take away is that Weightless is done and that Malick fans can rejoice in having another one of his projects set to arrive in the not-too-distant future.
