In case you weren't already aware, lead actor Andy Whitfield has dropped out of the Starz epic series Spartacus: Blood and Sand in order to receive more treatment for his Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It's been up in the air as to whether or not the series would simply come to an end, or if Whitfield would be replaced, but now EW brings word that Starz is moving forward with the series and re-casting his role. Who's strapping on the sandals? Apparently Prison Break star Wentworth Miller has expressed interest in taking over the titular role of the series. Since Fox's prison escape series ended, Miller hasn't done anything on television, so now would be a good time to make his return. A bit disappointing the Whitfield isn't returning under the circumstances so we wish him well and hope for a quick recovery. We'll keep you posted as this story develops. What do you Spartacus fans think of Wentworth Miller in the role?
