New ‘Westworld’ Season 2 Images Take Us Back to the Future

     March 16, 2018

It’s been a long time (or hast it?) since last we visited Westworld. It was back in 2016 that the ambitious sci-fi series adaptation of Michael Crichton‘s original 1973 film premiered with some very contemporary changes and crowd-pleasing twists and turns. The reliable ratings came courtesy of Jonah Nolan and Lisa Joy‘s mystery-centric series, but that success is also what caused some delay in the coming of the second season since the new scripts had to be airtight and just as engaging as the Season 1 storylines. But the wait is just about over. Westworld Season 2 arrive on HBO April 22nd, and we have some new, official images to share with you in celebration of that fact.

Now you may have seen some of these images floating around the net before, but the versions we have below are hi-res and watermark-free, all the better to enjoy the gorgeous scenery and costuming on display amidst the robot horror show in the background. These early looks feature Luke Hemsworth’s Stubbs, Evan Rachel Wood’s Dolores, Jeffrey Wright’s Bernard alongside Delos executive Charlotte Hale (Tessa Thompson) and a creepified Drone Host. Ed Harris returns as The Man in Black with Jimmi Simpson as the young William, though we don’t have an image of him just yet. James Marsden‘s cursed Teddy Flood is here, though, along with Thandie Newton‘s badass Maeve Millay. We’ve also got Fares FaresBetty Gabriel, Gustaf SkarsgardSimon Quarterman,Talulah Riley and Rodrigo Santoro.

Season 2 will see some of the executives taken hostage by the hosts while Charlotte tries to keep everything contained; she’s got a business to run, after all. Bernard’s crisis of conscience will likely continue as well, and who knows what the rest of the fan-favorite hosts will get up to. But that’s why we watch!

Take a look at the Westworld Season 2 images below and be sure to tune in for the new season when it premieres on HBO on April 22nd.
